I'm way behind on posting, but had a perfect summer dinner today, which was a good reminder to put it on the blog. Here's some recent eats. If any of them are already on another blog post, lucky us I suppose that we get to see it again.

Crabby Tots

Shared with Claire at the Point in Towson

Sushi Chiyo

Ebi, saba, salmon, otoro

Salad & Brie & Bread

Arugula and tomato, brie, bread. They didn't have a single baguette at Harris Teeter...weird, huh?? But this was good. Soft.

Chicken, Caprese

Janty cut this chicken into little medallions and I thought it looked so funny.

Spaghetti from Streets

Picked up from Streets one day when I was working from the office. I got this and a Kinder Bueno and was laughing laughing laughing to myself walking back to work. It was like 97 degrees that day. Tasted great, though.

Salad

Arugula, tomato, mozzarella, chicken, Italian dressing. Another Janty chop job. Beautiful cubes.

Penne, Brussels Sprouts

Jar sauce, meat, threw in some grated carrots I had leftover from when I made slaw. I was worried it would be weird because I didn't have anything else like celery or onion to add to balance the carrots, but it was fine. I put jalapeno honey sauce on the brussels.

Post-Dentist Pierogi

I got 3 fillings and my numbing mostly wore off right in time for lunch but my jaw was really sore and I was still kind of nervous about the numbing so I boiled 2 frozen pierogis and ate them dry with some pepper, barely opening my mouth to eat them. I ate them dry so that I could use my fingers, which in retrospect I probably could've used a fork but for some reason that didn't seem like an option at the time.

Tofu, Broccoli, Mazegohan

Mazegohan from a packet mix, broccoli and tofu in the oven. Made a sesame mayo sauce from kewpie, shoyu, rice vinegar, toasted and ground sesame seeds, drizzled that on top.

Maillard Pastries

Strawberry cream cheese Danish, rhubarb scone. Both were tasty, but the scone was extra good.

Snacks from Nando's

Was early to meet Claire so we went to Nando's for some snackies. I had sangria, we shared macho peas, wings, and fries. Wings aren't in the picture. The peas were delish and I'm going to try to make them this week. I think I might get into peas this summer. Or I'll at least make them one time. I think it's pretty much just make peas, smash some of them, add parsley and mint and chili.

Steak and Corn and Salad

This is the summer dinner I was talking about. Salad is arugula and spinach with tsukemono and radish with pretty much the same sesame mayo dressing I put on the tofu. Steak Janty cooked I think doing the butter/pan/oven method, with Hawaiian salt I massaged in. The steaks were huge. Janty and I split one and it was still this huge. Corn is just boiled, and I put butter and pepper and salt. Janty has these corn holders and they make eating corn on the cob so fun. We ate watermelon while dinner was cooking. Radler to drink, a real summer touch. For dessert: Tillamook mud slide ice cream sandwich. Perfect amount of salty

Always inspiring. Think I’ll follow your lead on summer peas too!
