Breakfast: Eggs, Bologna, Toast

Scrambled eggs, fried bologna, sour dough toast with nutella and banana, cutie for dessert. A primary source of tension in my relationship with Janty is that he adores bologna but cannot stomach spam and I love spam but think bologna's kind of gross. I eat it when he makes it, though. When it's in a pita I even like it. [edit: during this meal I cut the bologna up and ate it on the same fork as my eggs so it was like a little salty cap to the forkful. Pretty good] I think the texture is what bothers me. That, and spam just tastes better but ok I get it they are both gross meat-ish things. Anyway, Janty makes scrambled eggs omelet-style and puts lots of pepper on 'em. A hearty breakfast!

Snack: Chai Sugar Brioche Donut

We went out to the county to get paint samples and thought we were close to this coffee hut Janty likes. It turns out we were pretty far but we went anyway. We shared this chai sugar brioche donut. I love sugar donuts because of the feeling when your teeth crunch into the sugar and because of course I am a sweetie bean sugar pie. I don't know how they made the spices so teeny tiny perfect but they did a great job because it tasted very cardamommy and really sold the chai flavor. And the texture- crunchy, airy, mwah. Also we got honey thyme lattes, which I thought were just fine. Couldn't really taste the thyme but tasted fine like a regular latte.

Late Lunch: Pasta Salad Salad

I made orzo cucumber salad from the curlie cook. I downloaded her cookbook a while ago and that's where I got this recipe but she also adds recipes to her website: https://www.thecurliecook.com/healthy-meals

I put that on a bed of greens for extra veggies. I love this orzo salad because it feels like something Mom would keep in the fridge when we were in high school. And it's super easy/quick/doesn't make me feel sick. It's got dill, feta, lemon, olive oil, red onion, ACV (recipe calls for red wine v but I don't have that), cucumbers, tomatoes, etc. I will probably be eating this for the next two weeks because I made a huge bowl full.

Dinner/Snack: Granola Bar

Used this recipe, but I didn't have brown sugar so I just put white sugar and molasses straight in the pot when I did that step (as opposed to mixing them up separate to make brown sugar). I think the molasses might have been part of the reason it stuck together better this time than the last time I made these. The recipe calls for dark brown sugar but last time I used light brown so I assume that has less molasses and maybe that made it less sticky? Idk. Also, I put extra cashews and they were salted so I didn't add salt like the recipe says. https://whatsgabycooking.com/cherry-dark-chocolate-granola-bars/

It's still early so I might eat more stuff but if I do it'll probably either be more pasta salad, carrots & radishes from my veggie tub (chopped em up today), more granola bar, or a banana with peanut butter. Oh, also I ate a couple cream puffs earlier.

Janty is so weird about balogne. I learned a lot about brown sugar from this. Might make that salad to take to Aunty Annie’s tomorrow. I like to put chickpeas.
