Breakfast: Fruits and Burrito

Papaya from my parents' tree. I used to never understand why people don't like papaya but I tried one from a grocery store once and I can see why you wouldn't like that. I pretty much have only ever eaten papaya from my grandma's tree and now the one at my parents' house. Fresh from a tree's like a whole different fruit.

Mango from Uncle Miles - I think his friend's tree? Or maybe his, idk. So sweet and soft!

Dad made beans, Mom put them with some leftover pork in a tortilla, topped with a sprinkle of everything but the elote seasoning.
Lunch: Plate Lunch
We got 2 and shared between Mom & Dad, Emma, Grandma, and me. I was worried it wouldn't be enough but it was plenty.

Meat-jun, rice, cucumber kimchi, wakame, daikon kimchi, mac salad. I hadn't had meat-jun before I don't think. So good! I don't know why we haven't been getting it this whole time.

Chicken, regular kimchi, cucumber kimchi, tofu, mac salad. Delicious, of course. Tofu was really good, too!

Gushers Explosion from Tamura's. I wish they were more sour but still good. A million kinds of sugar.
Dinner: Mazegohan

Mom and Dad are at the neighbor's house for din so Grandma taught me how to make mazegohan. She cut up chicken, veggies, and aburage, and cooked in a little bit of olive oil, shoyu, umami seasoning, tsuyu. She measured out the rice, put the chicken & veg mix on it, then poured in dashi with a little bit of mirin, sake, tsuyu, shoyu, and salt mixed in. Just enough liquid to cover the rice and veg. Cooked in rice cooker.
We had leftover veggies and chicken that wouldn't fit in the pot so Grandma cooked them up on the stove with some sesame oil, shoyu, tsuyu, salt, umami, little bit dashi. She put some konyaku in a bowl and microwaved it until it was boiling, then drained it and added it to the leftovers. We had that on the side
Mom made the salad to take to the neighbors but left us a little bit. It's got greens, figs, mozzarella balls, toasted pine nuts, passionfruit olive oil, and balsamic. Yummy and fancy!
We also had miso soup with miso that Grandma's friend made her.

Mom claims to have loved meat jun this whole time but how can that be when I thought she was saying meat chan?? mazegohan looks so yum!
