I don't remember what I ate for breakfast. I think a chicken wrap left over from the boat. Then I had this nut pack while we waited for the library to open for Emma to pick up a book.

I've never seen this in our house but it was good.
Lunch: Aoki's

We went to North Shore and hiked part of Kealia Trail, then went to Haleiwa for shave ice. My big tip for people reading who aren't related to me is: Matsumoto's gets all the tourist hype but Aoki's is right across the street, almost never has a long line when I've been, and has way better ice anyway. And they've really done it up nice since the last time I went. Almost impossible to get your hands sticky from syrup. I got The North Shore: mango, lilikoi, guava, hint of li hing mui. And snow cap!
Dinner: Pah Ke
This is what Mom and Dad used to order when they would get takeout while they were dating. Soft gau gee mein for Dad, beef tomato for Mom. We shared both things plus had tsukemono.

Soft Gau Gee Mein

Beef tomato on top, nasu that Grandma made on the bottom: cook sliced eggplant in olive olive oil, add aji shoyu. I feel like she forgot to tell me a step because it tasted like there was more going on, but that's the gist I guess.

Tsukemono that Grandma made: daikon in vinegar and sugar

Tsukemono that Aunty Annie made: idk what's in there but tastes good

Great teaser on your Twitter and weird to see gau gee mein spelled out (also took me a mil tries because autocorrect really didn’t want me to write it)
