August 15 - Potluck

Breakfast:

I didn't take a pic because I was letting it cool while I wrote my other blogs and then I forgot but Mom made me a bean burrito.

Lunch:

I don't remember what I ate for lunch, but I think it was chips and guac.

Also this Aloha maid. I saw it at the store my first days here and was like, oh I gotta try that one but I kept on not buying it and then I told Mom and after she knew I wanted to try it she was on a mission but then we kept not seeing it at the stores we were at. But finally got this at Safeway. I was just curious if it was like regular apple juice or what. It tastes like Japanese apple juice, which makes sense I guess.

Dinner: Potluck

We had the family over for dinner outside. Mashed sweet potato and kale salad by Aunty Al; oden and potato salad by Grandma Chiyo (I asked her a while ago if she puts fake crab in her potato salad and she was like "no I don't put a lot of stuff just simple" and then Mom was like, "she puts crab, potatoes, macaroni, and sometimes edamame" and I just realized there was also eggs in there lol); fish by Uncle Gregg (kanpachi - he didn't catch it); somen salad by Aunty Mano; tomatoes and mozzarella by Mom I assume; steak cut into little pieces by Dad (seasoned by Mom with mushroom chips and other stuff?); pork tenderloin grilled by Dad, seasoned by Mom (Dad grilled it with a pan of sherry and water underneath and then after a while put applewood chips to smoke it. We don't know if the sherry does anything for sure but the meat was good. Really good, Dad!) Uncle Garry made pizza but I didn't have any yesterday because I had too much food but gonna eat some tonight for sure.

Dessert: Assortment

Tapioca dessert Mom has been talking about to me for a long time now and has sent me the recipe a bunch of times but I never made it myself yet. It's good, though! I'll make it when I get back home. My plate is on the left in the pic. I had tapioca, custard pie Uncle Gregg brought from Lee's (Li's? Leigh's? Idk) and mango cheesecake Asato's sherbet. The other plate is Emma's. She had mmm...strawberry cola? and lemon peel li hing gummy? Idk I'll ask her and update the post but my phone is inside and I'm out on the deck. Emma if you read this before I update the post can you comment, please. [update: it was li hing float and lemon peel gummy bear]
